A limited number of reduced-fee or pro bono spots may also be available depending on current intern capacity.
Part of the process to becoming a licensed counselor or therapist is a 15-month internship during graduate school. This provides opportunities to apply what they've learned in the classroom to real-life cases.
When they start their internship, Interns are on year 5 or 6 post graduation. Besides foundational counseling skills, they have been trained in several therapy modalities that support individual and couple work.
Yes, an experienced licensed counselor is onsite and at their university to support quality and compliance with industry standards. Interns meet with their supervisors weekly to fine tune skills and get recommendations for improved care.
Yes! Instead of one clinician, you have a team (intern & supervisor) working to support through challenges. You will help interns gain the needed hours and skill mastery required to become a licensed professional. You are also supporting your community to increase the number of qualified and experienced clinicians are available to serve clients.
